Part time course
Part-time at either Stroud Campus or local community venue (The Churn, Cirencester). 2 hours a week for up to 36 weeks at various days and times.
Stroud Campus - Wednesday 17:45-19:45, starting on Wednesday 26/09/18.
The Churn (Cirencester) - Wednesday 12:30-14:30, starting on Wednesday 19/09/18.
Is this course for me?
Yes, if you would like to improve your reading, writing and spelling skills and gain a nationally recognised qualification in English.
What are the entry requirements?
None. You will attend an individual interview and initial assessment to determine the most appropriate group and qualification for you to ensure that you study at an achievable level.
What will I do on this course?
You will develop your reading and writing skills through topics that interest you and are prepared by a specialist teacher. You will have the opportunity to use a computer and participate in whole class activities as well as working on your own with the teacher's support. Topics will be taught using everyday examples.
What qualification can I get?
Functional Skills English at a range of levels from Entry Level through to Level 2, as appropriate for you.
What can I do after this programme?
When you have completed Level 2, you may progress to AQA GCSE English Language. Information, advice and guidance are available to all students to help them decide what to do next.
