Summary
Level 2 Travel and Tourism requires you to have an interest in other cultures, countries and the Travel and Tourism industry as a whole. This Level 2 qualification provides a detailed study of the Travel and Tourism industry. The qualification is designed to provide you with a solid understanding of the tourism industry and the additional skills needed to progress into the next study level or to secure employment.
You will study a range of subjects to give you an insight into the industry, including:
- U.K Travel and Tourism Sector( Externally assessed)
- U.K Travel and Tourism Destinations
- The Development of Travel and Tourism
- Travel and Tourism Business Environments (Externally Assessed)
This Level 2 course is based at our Filton campus, located in South Gloucestershire which is easily accessible from the city of Bristol by train (Bristol Parkway / Bristol Abbey Wood) and bus.
What do I need to join?
You will need four GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above, with English and Maths being essential.
Previous work
Maths & English
A key requirement for future progression and employment is a good understanding and application of knowledge and skills in both English and maths.
Learners who are enrolled on this course will also, as part of their overall programme of study, be enrolled on GCSE English and Maths in order to progress towards gaining GCSE grade 4 in both subjects.
Work Experience
As part of your overall programme of study, learners will be required to undertake a period of work placement related to the field of employment they wish to enter.
Our Work Placement Team will assist learners in gaining a placement and ensure that you are on track to achieve, whilst liaising with your course tutors to ensure that the opportunity to practice necessary employability skills is available at college.
What can I do next?
The aim of the L2 First Certificate in Travel and Tourism is that upon successful completion, learners are able to progress onto the L3 programme of their choice. After successful completion of their L3 Qualification, learners could enter a skilled occupation or choose to continue their studies through an Apprenticeship, a Higher Technical Qualification, or a Higher Education Course
