Covid Update

On Tuesday 29 March, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Sajid Javid, set out the next steps for living with COVID-19 in England from Friday 1 April.

Updated guidance advises:

  • Adults with the symptoms of a respiratory infection, and who have a high temperature or feel unwell, should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people until they feel well enough to resume normal activities and no longer have a high temperature.
  • Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can return to college when they no longer have a high temperature, and are well enough to attend.
  • Adults with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days, which is when they are most infectious. For children and young people aged 18 and under, the advice is 3 days.

For education and childcare settings from Friday 1 April:

  • Regular asymptomatic testing is no longer recommended in any education or childcare setting, including in SEND, alternative provision and children’s social care settings. Therefore, we will no longer be able to order test kits .

Summary

AAT is the UK’s leading qualification and membership body for accounting and finance staff. The Level 1 AAT Award in Business Skills is an entry-level qualification that opens doors to the world of finance and business! It's designed to equip you with the understanding of sales and purchases processes and the essential skills to support finance teams with everyday business activities and contribute effectively in the workplace. This course is for you have little or no experience or qualifications, and are looking to gain a fundamental understanding of finance. It is a great stepping stone for further studies in accountancy or bookkeeping.

How will I learn?

This course is an interactive online learning environment that brings the classroom to your doorstep. Engage in live sessions with your tutor and fellow students, allowing you to ask questions, gain valuable skills, and participate from the comfort of your own home. The course is class based for 3 hours per week, plus around 2 hours self-study. There will be a mixture of teacher demonstration, group work and plenty of practical exercises, supported by your tutor. There is no coursework - instead you will have one online exams.

Entry Requirements

We recommend that you have a level 2 in Maths, and a good standard of general education. However, this is advisory and please do contact us to discuss your personal situation. You don't need to be in an accounting role. A successful interview will be required prior to enrolling. You will need to register with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) at a cost of £65.00. All exam fees (single attempt) are included in the cost of your course. Textbooks are additional cost £18.00 Details on all of the above will be discussed during your interview.
