This qualification is for you, if you are a practicing or aspiring managers and leaders who are typically accountable to a senior manager or business owner. The new skills exercised in this course encourage you to think critically about their role within the organisation and instils a practice of lifelong learning beyond the classroom environment. The Certificate provides a broad knowledge of skills to help you be more effective in specific management areas, with increased focus on the areas that are most appropriate to your role and organisation. The awarding body Chartered Management Institute (CMI) works with business and education to inspire candidates to become skilled, confident and successful managers and leaders. This internationally recognised qualification demonstrates to prospective employers that candidates are proficient in current management practices and are committed to Continuing Professional Development.
How will I learn?
This course is an interactive online learning environment. These sessions are with your tutor and other students on set teaching dates. This will allow you to ask questions and gain new skills all without leaving your home. There is also an opportunity to upskill and complete the full Diploma, please get in contact with [email protected] to find out more. This qualification is delivered through a series of workshops, each unit has two full day workshops with an additional 1-1 tutorial session. You will also be invited to a course induction prior to the first workshop. You will be expected to attend all workshops and induction lessons. Workshop Dates: Induction – Tuesday 10th January at 10:00am - 11:00am Unit 501 – Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th January at 09:30am - 17:30pm Unit 502 – Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th March at 09.30am - 17:30pm You must complete a combination of minimum 13 credits to achieve this qualification. We have selected the following two units to meet this combination. Different units may be available on request, please contact [email protected] for information and costing. Unit 501: Principles of Operational Leadership and Management in an Organisational Context This unit involves learning new knowledge, skills and behaviours to manage and lead in a variety of organisational settings, which is essential if an individual and their organisation are to succeed in today’s competitive and dynamic environment. This unit has been designed for learners who want to sharpen their professional edge and enhance personal effectiveness. Learners will evaluate the impact of an organisation’s structure and governance on management and leadership. They will explore theoretical models, management and leadership styles and approaches designed to promote a culture of mutual trust, respect and support. Unit 502: Principles of Developing, Managing and Leading Individuals and Teams to Achieve Success The ability to lead individuals and teams to success is arguably the most important skill a manager can possess. This unit focuses on the essential management and leadership skills required to fulfil this challenging but rewarding role. The unit opens by focusing on theoretical, practical and new approaches to developing, leading, and managing teams (remote or multidisciplinary). The manager will look at techniques to assess current and future team capabilities, including the role of recruitment, selection and staff development which supports this. On successful completion of the unit, the manager will not only know the principles of managing individuals and teams, but they will understand approaches for supporting, motivating and inspiring teams and individuals to exceed expectations.
You will need to have a good level of?English?and assignment writing experience. You also need to have management experience at minimum team leader level. Level 3 qualification or above in Leadership and Management would be beneficial.??On enrolment you will need to complete a short interview, you will also have the option to speak to the course programme manager.
