Summary
This popular course is designed for both men and women who wish to pursue a career in the beauty sector. You need to have already achieved a Level 2 in Beauty Therapy and you will develop the existing technical skills and knowledge learnt at Level 2 to an advanced level, along with advanced facial and massage techniques.
Modules covered may include face and body electricals, body massage, microdermabrasion, anatomy and physiology.
This Level 3 course is based at our Filton campus, located in South Gloucestershire which is easily accessible from the city of Bristol by train (Bristol Parkway / Bristol Abbey Wood) and bus. As well as our Stroud campus in the centre of Gloucestershire, surrounded by the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The campus is a short walk from Stroud train station and easily accessible by bus.
How will I know how I am doing?
You will be assessed through observation of practical assessments, assignments and written examinations. You will also work with members of the general public who visit our salons and often provide feedback about their treatments. Regular reviews with your tutor will provide you with feedback on your progress.
What do I need to join?
You will have three GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English, and you will have successfully completed Level 2 Beauty Therapy. Alongside this, learners must be able to demonstrate excellent manual dexterity and communication skills.
Previous work
Maths & English
A key requirement for obtaining many jobs is to achieve a good standard of English and maths. Therefore learners that do not yet have a GCSE grade C will be enrolled on either GCSE or Functional Skills programmes alongside their course.
Employability
The skills gained from this course will enable you to work in a spa, beauty salon or cruise ship, or even start up your own business.
Work Experience
To gain the industrial experience for employment, you will be expected to have a work placement for a specific number of hours throughout the course. Your tutor will discuss this with you in more detail.
What can I do next?
Learners who successfully complete the qualification can gain employment in the industry, such as working in a spa, beauty salon or cruise ship, or by starting your own business.
