The CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management is a professional qualification with CIPD, the awarding body. This has been developed in collaboration with a wide range of experts working at the heart of the profession. It sets the international standard for the people profession and provides a strong foundation to give people professionals the confidence and capabilities to guide their decision-making, actions and behaviours.
This qualification builds on the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice and is aimed at further expanding learners’ independent practice to enable them to evolve into more senior roles within organisations.
Candidate’s will contribute to the thinking around their work, analysing information to inform choices and actions. Working with and influencing others through their work will create short-term value for a wider audience. Using a framework of HR and L&D understanding, behaviours and skills development, this qualification offers opportunity for learners to transition to employment as people managers.

How will I learn?
You will learn through a combination of taught sessions, activities based on case studies and via private study. Assessment is through written assignments, group and individual presentations and providing written answers to questions. Classes will be delivered through a blended approach with a mixture of classroom at Filton and live classroom sessions at college and on Microsoft Teams. To be awarded the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management, learners are required to successfully complete a total of seven units.
You will study towards the following units as part of the level 5 Associate Diploma; Organisational performance and culture in practice, Evidence-based practice, Professional behaviours and valuing people, Employment relationship management, Talent management and workforce planning, Reward for performance and contribution, and Leadership and management development.
This qualification is designed for learners aged 18+ who want to learn about people practice or L&D practice. Candidates will normally have successfully achieved the Level 3 CIPD Foundation Certificate in People Practice prior to joining. However, candidates who can demonstrate substantial workplace experience, which would enable them to benefit from this level of study, will also be considered.
You will need to have a good level of Maths and English. Although there are no formal entry requirements, it is expected that centres conduct their own diagnostics to ensure that this qualification is appropriate for the learner.
You are required to join the CIPD as a student member at the beginning of the course and remain in membership throughout the course.
