Summary
This Level 3, 1.5 A Levels equivalent programme is designed to provide learners with the underpinning knowledge required to progress into the industry or into further education and training upon completion. Learners will undertake study of the key elements and practices involved in the hospitality and travel industry, as well as maintaining up-to-date knowledge and understanding of ongoing developments both in the UK and overseas.
How will I know how I am doing?
A variety of assessment methods will be used to measure your progress from your start point against your excepted outcomes and target grade. These may include practical tasks and assessments, written assignments, performance reviews, presentations, and discussions. Progress will be discussed with your tutor and other delivery staff on the programme.
What do I need to join?
Learners will require four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including both English and Maths, in order to enrol on this programme of study.
Maths & English
A key requirement for future progression and employment is a good understanding and application of knowledge and skills in both English and maths. Learners will be provided with the opportunity to continually develop their English and maths, and feedback will be provided on progress made.
Work Experience
As part of their overall programme of study, learners will be required to undertake a period of work placement related to the field of employment they wish to enter. Our Work Placement Team will assist learners in gaining a placement and ensure that you are on track to successfully complete, whilst liaising with your course tutors to ensure that opportunities to practice necessary employability skills are available at college.
What can I do next?
Learners who successfully complete this programme may progress onto Level 3, Year 2, or alternatively choose to gain employment or an apprenticeship in a related field.
