Summary
The Association for Project Management, the chartered body for the project profession, is committed to developing and promoting project and programme management through its FIVE Dimensions of Professionalism. In 2017, APM was awarded a Royal Charter as part of its strategy to raise awareness and standards in the profession. The award-winning association has over 30,000 individual members and more than 500 organisations participating in the Corporate Partnership Programme making it the largest professional body of its kind in Europe. The Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) Level 3 (SCQF Level 6) was developed by APM who are the chartered body for the project profession which offers a fundamental awareness of project management terminology. This qualification is for those wishing to gain a broad understanding of the principles of the profession. You don’t need any prior knowledge or experience for this qualification. The APM PFQ assesses the key elements of the project management life cycle and covers knowledge areas from the APM Body of Knowledge, including planning and scheduling, communication, teamwork, resource management, project risk management and project reviews. The Fundamentals Qualification is a one hour, 60-question, multiple-choice exam. You can sit the exam online either in a classroom with your accredited provider or at home utilising our remote live invigilator. You can book your exam at a time to suit you.
How will I learn?
Learning will take place primarily in a classroom environment with the opportunity to use case studies and tutorial-based exercises. Computer-based testing is used for assessment of all units, with mock exams taking place during the classroom sessions.
Elements of this course will also be taught remotely. The chosen platform for this is Microsoft Teams. Teams allows learners and teachers to seamlessly work together, create content and share resources from a single, easy-to-learn and simple platform. On successful enrolment onto this course, you will be provided with all the details required to set up Teams.
A 60 minute online multiple-choice examination will be undertaken on completion of the taught element course.

Entry Requirements
Candidates require a level 2 in Maths & English (A to C Grade GCSE or equivalent), and a good standard of general education. Support in obtaining these can be provided if required. A successful interview and assessment will be required prior to enrolling.
No prior knowledge or experience is required for this qualification. Successful completion will provide the skills and knowledge to make a positive contribution to any project.
