Covid Update

On Tuesday 29 March, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Sajid Javid, set out the next steps for living with COVID-19 in England from Friday 1 April.

Updated guidance advises:

  • Adults with the symptoms of a respiratory infection, and who have a high temperature or feel unwell, should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people until they feel well enough to resume normal activities and no longer have a high temperature.
  • Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can return to college when they no longer have a high temperature, and are well enough to attend.
  • Adults with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days, which is when they are most infectious. For children and young people aged 18 and under, the advice is 3 days.

For education and childcare settings from Friday 1 April:

  • Regular asymptomatic testing is no longer recommended in any education or childcare setting, including in SEND, alternative provision and children’s social care settings. Therefore, we will no longer be able to order test kits .

Summary

This qualification is for you, if you are a practicing or aspiring managers and leaders who are typically accountable to a senior manager or business owner. The new skills exercised in this course encourage you to think critically about their role within the organisation and instils a practice of lifelong learning beyond the classroom environment.

The diploma provides the knowledge and skills to help you be more effective in your management role, with increased focus on the areas that are most appropriate for you and organisation.

The awarding body Chartered Management Institute (CMI) works with business and education to inspire candidates to become skilled, confident and successful managers and leaders.  This internationally recognised qualification demonstrates to prospective employers that candidates are proficient in current management practices and are committed to Continuing Professional Development.

How will I learn?

You will be invited for a two-day workshop for each of the units, these workshops are taught on Microsoft teams as a live interactive online session. These sessions are with your tutor and other students on set teaching dates. This will allow you to ask questions and gain new skills all without leaving your home. This will also include an additional 1-1 tutorial session for you and your tutor. You will also be invited to a course induction prior to the first workshop. You will be expected to attend all workshops and induction lessons. Units: Unit 501: Principles of Operational Leadership & Management in an Organisational Context Unit 502: Principles of Developing, Managing and Leading Individuals and Teams to Achieve Success Unit 509: Managing Stakeholder Relationships Unit 513: Managing Projects to Achieve Results Unit 514: Managing Change Unit 515: Creating and Delivering Operational Plans Unit 520: Managing Finance

Entry Requirements

You will need to have a good level of English and assignment writing experience. You will also need to have management experience at minimum Level 3 qualification or above in Leadership and Management would be beneficial. On enrolment you will need to complete a short interview, you will also have the option to speak to the course programme manager.
