RSPH Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene
All food handlers are required to have an understanding of the basic principles of food hygiene and know how to work safely, so as to protect the food they serve from contamination.
This qualification will give you the knowledge and understanding of the importance of food hygiene, associated food hazards, good hygiene practice and controls based upon an awareness of food safety management systems. Successful candidates will know how to maintain good practice in the handling, processing and preparation of food.

Food handlers in the catering sector, including restaurants, hotels, cafes, bars, fast-food outlets, takeaways, mobile caterers, kitchens in hospitals, schools, colleges and care homes
Self-employed home based caterers
Voluntary workers who handle food for others
The award is usually delivered over one day using a mixture of lectures, interactive exercises and videos to ensure learners thoroughly comprehend their food safety responsibilities. It is assessed by multiple choice examination: 30 questions to be answered in 40 minutes.
