You probably use IT on a daily basis, directly via your phone or a computer or indirectly when you pay with your card in a shop or stream a programme on your TV. This course aims to develop learners’ abilities in IT by offering a wide range of units from all aspects of the IT world. Our experienced and friendly teaching team will help you to learn a range of IT skills.

What do I need to join?

You will need three GCSEs at grade 2 or above, with English
and maths being desirable.

How will I learn?

You will learn through lessons, practical classes and using specialist software in the classroom

How will I know how I am doing?

You will receive coursework grades and frequent feedback from your tutors.

Are there any extra costs?

There may be costs for materials fees; these will cover the cost of trips, visits and specialist equipment.

What can I do next?

Learners can progress to a Level 2 IT qualification following the successful completion of their Level 1 programme or apply for an apprenticeship in a related field. In both instances, learners will receive support from tutors and our careers team.

What are my career options?

With further training or study, you can enter employment at a junior level in careers such as IT support or web development.

Tuition Fees

Between the ages of 16-18 you do not need to pay tuition or exam fees for your course. If you are between the ages of 19 and 23 and have not achieved a full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification before, you will not need to pay tuition, exam or material fees using the Level 2 or 3 Entitlement. If you are aged 19 or over, studying a Level 3-6 and a Level 3 Entitlement does not apply, you will need to pay the full cost of the course. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with the fees. Please contact the College directly for the most up to date fees – these may be subject to change.
