RSPH L3 Supervising Food Safety in Catering

An estimated 1 in 10 of us likely to be subject to a food borne illness each year, resulting in a huge drain on NHS resources and thousands of working days lost; not to mention the potentially life-threatening effect on the individuals concerned.

This qualification will provide you with a broad knowledge of food safety and food hygiene. It will provide you with the knowledge and understanding to be able to take responsibility for food safety monitoring procedures, to identify hazards to food safety and put into place sufficient control methods and to contribute to improvements in food safety practice. 

Who is the course for?

This course is a natural progression for those who have undertaken the Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene Award.  The Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety is designed for those who intend to be or who are supervisors of food handlers in catering, hospitality or retail environment.

Course Details

The award is usually delivered over 3 days, consisting of lectures, interactive exercises and learner participation to ensure learners gain a thorough understanding of food safety hazards and their role in supervising food safety. 

It is assessed by an examination of 90 minutes. The examination will consist of forty-five multiple-choice questions.
