Covid Update

On Tuesday 29 March, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Sajid Javid, set out the next steps for living with COVID-19 in England from Friday 1 April.

Updated guidance advises:

  • Adults with the symptoms of a respiratory infection, and who have a high temperature or feel unwell, should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people until they feel well enough to resume normal activities and no longer have a high temperature.
  • Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can return to college when they no longer have a high temperature, and are well enough to attend.
  • Adults with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days, which is when they are most infectious. For children and young people aged 18 and under, the advice is 3 days.

For education and childcare settings from Friday 1 April:

  • Regular asymptomatic testing is no longer recommended in any education or childcare setting, including in SEND, alternative provision and children’s social care settings. Therefore, we will no longer be able to order test kits .

Support Options Summary

FlexPay allows all students to spread any invoiced payment costs across the academic year and pay for them on a monthly basis.

With FlexPay you can select the payment plan length that best suits you as an individual. Their online portal allows you to track payments, make repayments, send messages to their team and to manage every other element of FlexPay via your own secure account.

To use FlexPay there is a small £6.00 Admin Fee per instalment. These fees will be collected with your first payment, but as it's not a loan, there's no interest or credit charges at any time. If you don't keep up with your payment and fall behind there is a late payment charge but it's all explained and super easy to set up. The whole process is flexible to you individually and you're able to amend your plan at any time - as long as it's paid and completed 30 days before the end of your course.

To sign up you will need to first search for your course. The easiest way to do this is to use the SGS course code (make sure this is your current course code). You can find this on your joining instructions letter/email or on ProPortal (your course names and course codes are listed under the information tab).

If you have made a payment towards your course, still select the full cost course. We will amend the total payment due to reflect the remaining amount on your student record.
