Summary
In this live interactive course you will learn how to up-cycle scrap fabric or old clothes to make ornaments and useful knickknacks or gifts. You will be introduced to sewing techniques and creative solutions for scrap fabric or old clothes. You will be making a series of small sewing projects, alongside your tutor. Each project has a detailed material list available on TEAMS for you to prepare ready for the session and a worksheet for you if you want to make it again. You will learn timeless skills to turn your unwanted scraps into something special and learn to love your rubbish!
What do I need to join?
This is an all-levels course suitable for everyone with a little experience of sewing and making. You will need a basic sewing kit and craft materials, fabric – scraps or old clothes destined for the charity shops! and trimmings.
How will I learn?
Your Tutor will give you regular feedback during the lesson, you will be able to ask questions during the lessons and use the written chats through the TEAMS software which is accessible through the college website.

What can I do next?
The techniques and skills gained in this course can be used for further sewing, arts and crafts and pattern cutting and it’s also a very useful way to recycle! We offer a selection of Pattern cutting courses and for those wishing to build their skills towards a career in art and textiles we offer Access to Art.
