About the course

The Gateway Qualifications Entry Level Award in Employability Skills (Entry 3) is a 15 week programme designed to help you build confidence, develop essential employability skills, and gain a nationally recognised qualification - all through engaging creative arts and crafts activities. You will learn in a supportive and relaxed environment that encourages independence, teamwork, and personal growth, helping you prepare for your next step in work, training, or further study.

Course content

Over the 15 week course, you will complete three key units designed to enhance your creativity, collaboration, and self-reflection:

  • Skills for Creative Thinkers - Learn how to generate ideas, think creatively, and solve problems in new and imaginative ways.

  • Skills for Effective Participants - Develop communication and teamwork skills to contribute confidently in group settings.

  • Skills for Reflective Learners - Strengthen your self-awareness by reviewing progress, identifying strengths, and setting personal goals for improvement.

Through hands-on creative projects, you will have the chance to apply these skills in a fun and practical way while gaining valuable experience to support your employability journey.

How is the course delivered and assessed?
The course is delivered face to face in a friendly, supportive classroom environment. Learning takes place through practical activities, group projects, and reflective exercises. Assessment is continuous and based on your completed work, participation, and evidence of developing skills - there are no formal written exams.
What can I do next
After completing this qualification, you can progress to higher-level employability or vocational courses, volunteer roles, or entry-level employment. It also provides an excellent foundation for learners wishing to move into Level 1 or Level 2 courses in creative subjects or workplace skills.n
