Summary
The Magical Beauty of Glass, Colour and Light – 5 days
Celebrate this International year of Glass with a hands on Stained Glass workshop. Using a fantastic range of coloured glass here at the College you can learn about the qualities of different types of glass and how use them in your project work.
Beginners can learn the whole process to make a leaded stained glass panel, learn how to create a design, cut and shape glass, kiln fired glass painting, leading, soldering, cementing and finishing.
This intensive and fun course will give you the opportunity to set you up with the skills you need to make stained glass and learn about different types of stained glass.
Continuing students work on individual projects and can learn additional skills such as kiln fired glass paint/ stains and lower firing enamels or glass fusing, frits, inclusions, slumping and high firing enamels.
You can join one of the regular stained glass day or evening classes to continue to learn new skills such as kiln fired glass painting or fusing, or join one of the accredited Aim Award Stained Glass courses starting from September. At Easter there is a 4 day Fusing glass workshop.
