About the course

The ESOL Care for the Community Skills Bootcamp is a fully funded programme designed for adults aged 19 and over who are seeking employment in the health and social care sector. Tailored specifically for ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) learners, this course combines English language development in the morning, followed by studying a recognised health and social care qualification in the afternoon. You will gain the essential skills, confidence, and industry knowledge needed to begin a rewarding career in health and social care.

Course content
In the mornings, you will focus on developing your English language skills to improve communication and employability. In the afternoons, you will study a Level 1 Health and Social care qualification and learn about what the roles involve. You will also have the opportunity to take part in voluntary work experience to gain insight into real workplace environments. Alongside your training, you will receive tailored careers support, including CV writing, interview techniques, and direct links to live job vacancies in the sector.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
The course is delivered face-to-face and combines classroom-based English language learning with health and social care based scenarios and examples. You will also benefit from employer engagement sessions to help you transition into work.
