FTE Salary: Up to £27,651.00 (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)
Hourly Rate: £14.33
Contract Type: Fixed term contract until 31st July 2024
Working Hours: 5 hours per week, 32 weeks per year

The SGS Life department has an exciting opportunity for a variable hour’s Functional skills English tutor.
Working either in the Community or at the Bristol campus, delivering English to adults. The tutor will be an experienced individual, suitably qualified with a proven track record of delivering English courses with excellent delivery and administration skills including managing the exam process.
The successful candidate will teach within our Adult provision. This includes daytime and maybe evening. This role would suit someone with an understanding of adult learners and the ability to deliver innovative learning opportunities to meet their needs.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Deliver Functional Skills courses in the community to adults looking for employment, further development, career progression or just wanting to increase their skills
- Maintain up to date and accurate learner and programme documentation including reviews, ILPs, registers and learner tracking
- Assist with learner recruitment for the Adult courses
- To work closely with other Assessor/Tutors to support a group of learners in a learning environment
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent or have substantial relevant subject experience or occupational experience
- Experience working with Adult English programmes
- Experience in delivering qualifications to adults and administering the exam process
- Have experience of working in a pressured environment to tight timescales and deadlines
- The successful candidate will be patient, motivated, inspiring learning in the classroom, a self-starter, organised, and have an excellent level of administrative and communication skills
