We are looking for someone to shadow our existing admin and accounts team members. After time when the applicant is ready, they will be given their own responsibilities to help support the business.

Apprenticeship Summary

The duties will include:

  • Matching invoices / Purchase ledger
  • Reconciling company credit cards
  • Mentoring business admin apprentice
  • Communicating with suppliers
  • Liaising with MCS site staff – chasing paperwork & information
  • Answering the phone
  • Raising purchase orders
  • Assisting the accounts & procurement departments in general
  • Assisting with site management – printing drawings etc..
  • Easy build (no experience necessary training will be given)

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Computer literate, tech-savvy, familiarity with using MS Word, Excel. Easybuild (training will be given)
  • Good written and verbal communication and attention to detail

Desired qualifications

You must be able to demonstrate you have adequate English and maths levels. You will be required to complete an English and maths assessment as part of the selection process. (This will be done at SGS College, Filton). You will be supported by SGS College to achieve an English and maths qualification if you don't hold one.

On completion of your apprenticeship, it could be career progression opportunities in various areas of the business. Good training and career progression opportunities.

Permanent base in Bristol, must be willing to travel to Offices/Site within the business when as & when needed

Training

SGS has elected to deliver the on-programme-learning using the Association of Accounting Technician (aat) Foundation Diploma and the Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
AAT as the lead awarding organisation for accounting have been involved in the development of the apprenticeship Standard and have mapped the diplomas to the Standard. Our recommended End Point Assessment Organisation is AAT.

Details of the Diploma as the delivery model for the Apprenticeship Standard as follows;

  • A structured, proven training programme that equips the candidate with the skillset required for the industry
  • Thorough mapping against the Standard ensuring all skills, knowledge and behaviours are covered
  • Achievement of an industry-recognised accounting technical qualification
  • Provides a platform for progress tracking
  • Prepares the candidate for End Point Assessment with AAT
  • Provides a basis for progression, within our outside the apprenticeship route
  • External quality assurance through Ofqual regulated awarding organisation
  • An appeals and redress process with the awarding organisation
  • Attendance at weekly classes for each module is mandatory for all apprentices.

The Apprenticeship will be delivered by a South Gloucestershire & Stroud College Assessor and you will be required to attend the Filton Campus to complete some of your learning.

You will be required to complete company training to include both remote and face to face learning, as well as learning about various aspects of the business.
