Free summer school for young performers

A free performing arts summer school is being offered by SGS College this summer to encourage youngsters into the industry.

The five day programme will take place from 14th -18th July from 10am-3pm and is aimed at girls and boys in years 10 – 13. This unique camp aims to offer practical performance opportunities in Stroud and the surrounding areas.

It is a skills week with practical workshops every morning covering singing, dancing and acting. During the afternoons, participants rehearse for a showcase performance which will take place in the afternoon on the last Friday and is presented to an invited audience.

Helen Wingrave Head of Performing Arts commented: “This is the second year that we are running the summer school after so many compliments last year. Not only does it help the participants learn valuable skills within the performing arts industry but it also helps to build confidence among young people.”
