From Aviation studies at SGS to a career that is truly taking off, Anna's journey is nothing short of inspiring. She left SGS feeling confident and ready to soar, and that is exactly what she did!

Thanks to the skills and confidence gained at SGS, Anna has worked at Bristol Airport as a Customer Service Agent, flown short haul with EasyJet as Cabin Crew, and now takes on long-haul adventures with Virgin Atlantic. Talk about reaching new heights!

Former SGS and Bristol Academy of Sport star Will Bayley was born with a rare congenital disorder called arthrogryposis, which affected all four of his limbs from the age of three months old. At the age of seven he was also diagnosed with cancer. This is when Will began playing table tennis, after his grandmother bought him his first table as a welcome distraction during his recovery.

Capturing Silent Struggles Through Art

From starting on Level 1 to graduating with a UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma, Ruben's creative journey at the Bristol School of Art, Wise Campus, has been nothing short of inspiring.

A passionate photographer and graphic designer, Ruben channeled his final major project into exploring the silent struggles many men face with mental health. Through powerful black and white imagery, he captured architecture, liminal spaces, and the quiet loneliness of city life, reflecting on the challenges men often face in expressing themselves emotionally.

Ruben shared that studying art with us taught him how to express himself both academically and emotionally. He's developed a strong visual language and a powerful voice.

"Never feel you are alone when you need support," Ruben added. "Reaching out to teachers and staff at BSOA, SGS Wise Campus, you will always be listened to and supported by both them and by the wellbeing team."

Ruben is now moving on to study Graphic Communication at USW Cardiff, and we couldn't be prouder of how far he has come. His work is a powerful reminder of the impact art can have, and we can't wait to see the incredible stories he'll tell next.

Molly studied Travel & Tourism and Air Industry at SGS, then joined British Airways as cabin crew after graduation.

Geoff Dibb works at Rockstar Games as a junior game designer, following his Creative Computer Games Design course at SGS.

Toby Faletau attended SGS before going on to a successful international rugby career with Wales and the British and Irish Lions.

While studying at SGS, A-level student Vada was - and still is - a member of Team GB's gymnastics squad. Vada has achieved huge success in gymnastics, including competing at the Pat Wade Tournament in November 2014, the European Championships in Germany in October 2015 and the World Championships in China in March 2016.

Stephen Gill, a successful photographer, started at SGS before working at Magnum Photos and pursuing a freelance career.

From Apprentice to Managing Director

From an apprentice with a vision to the Owner and Managing Director of Dock Solutions, Joshua Hale's journey through the Level 5 Operations Management Apprenticeship at SGS College is a powerful testament to continuous learning, strategic growth, and ambitious leadership.

At just 26, Joshua reflects on his apprenticeship as invaluable, crediting his charismatic tutor and the well-balanced mix of classroom learning, independent study, and hands-on work experience for setting him up for success.

"The opportunity to learn alongside a diverse group of professionals highlighted that college isn't just for younger students," Joshua commented. "I felt reassured that I wasn't being left behind academically, even as friends pursued university degrees. The course showed me that learning and growth aren't bound by age. It was the perfect environment to build confidence and gain real experience."

Since completing his apprenticeship, Joshua's career trajectory has been nothing short of remarkable. He quickly earned a promotion within his company, and in 2023, he achieved a significant milestone by securing funding for a Management Buy-Out (MBO). Now, as the leader of a 42-person team at Dock Solutions, he works with some of the largest organisations worldwide.

Mitch trained at the South West Academy of Dramatic Arts and became known for his role in the TV show Skins.

Former SGS student Sajid Javid went on to become the UK's Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills.

Jenny Jones started her snowboarding career at SGS and went on to win bronze in slopestyle at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.

Bilal started in SGS's PWL department, earned qualifications, and graduated with a BA in Business before completing a Master's in International Business.

From the pitches of SGS College to nearly two decades of professional football, Chris Lines' journey is a testament to what talent, hard work, and perseverance can achieve.

A proud alumnus of the Bristol Academy of Sport, Chris went on to forge a truly remarkable professional football career. His journey began with his professional debut for Bristol Rovers in 2006, where he quickly became a fan favourite, making over 300 appearances across two spells. His path then led him to Sheffield Wednesday, where he was instrumental in their promotion to the Championship, followed by successful stints at Port Vale, Northampton Town, and Stevenage, collecting multiple promotions along the way.

Chris's career truly embodies resilience, professionalism, and an unwavering passion for the sport—a passion that was ignited right here at SGS College.

Chris said, "SGS College gave me the foundation I needed to pursue my dreams in football. The support and guidance I received were invaluable in shaping my early career."

Reflecting on his return, Chris added, "It's an honour to be back at SGS College, celebrating the next generation of athletes. Seeing the talent here today brings back so many great memories, and I hope my story can inspire them to chase their own ambitions."

Tara studied electrical and electronic engineering at SGS, later earning distinction stars and entering GE Aviation's higher apprenticeship scheme.

Cameron Parker is now the UK's number one schools' motivational speaker, inspiring tens of thousands of individuals across the country.

From Court Vision to Coaching Vision

From honing his skills on the courts of SGS College to commanding the professional stage, Corey Samuels' journey is a testament to the power of dedication, discipline, and unwavering belief in one's path.

A proud product of SGS College's athletic program, Corey developed his game here before embarking on a professional career with the Bristol Flyers in the British Basketball League. There, he quickly made a name for himself as a dynamic and intelligent point guard. Over multiple seasons with the Flyers, Corey delivered standout performances, including a career-high 13-point game, a 9-assist performance, and consistent contributions in both domestic league and European competitions. His ability to lead on the court and adapt under pressure made him a respected figure in British basketball.

Corey's journey is a powerful reminder that success in sport isn't just about talent; it's about perseverance, humility, and the desire to give back.

Now, Corey has come full circle, returning to SGS College not as a student-athlete, but as a staff member, ready to inspire the next generation.

"SGS College played a crucial role in my development as a player and as a person," Corey shared. "It's an incredible feeling to be back here, now with the opportunity to mentor and guide the aspiring athletes who are where I once was."

Former SGS Bristol School of Art student Sabina Savage is living her childhood dream and fulfilling her career ambitions as a fashion designer with her own label.

Joe Sims is known for ITV's Broadchurch and studied BTEC Performing Arts at SGS. He has extensive credits in radio, TV, and theatre.

After redundancy in 2009, Debbie retrained in plumbing, founded Plumbher, and has since become Gas Safe certified and supported others into the trade.

Hetty studied animal management at SGS before working at Bristol Zoo and completing a conservation biology degree in Devon.
