DFN Project Search is a transformative one-year supported internship programme for 18–24-year-olds with a learning disability or autism who have come to the end of their academic journey and are ready for the world of work.
Host Business Partner
Based at the Amazon BRS1 fulfilment centre, this programme offers you the chance to be fully immersed in a professional workplace on a full-time basis. You will be supported every step of the way by an onsite teacher and a dedicated job coach to help you transition from education into the workplace.
Project Search is an international programme that started in Cincinnati Children's Hospital in Ohio, USA almost 30 years ago. It was created to support young people with learning disabilities transition from education into the workplace with the added benefit of a teacher and a job coach.
There are more than 500 Project Search programmes worldwide, with more than 100 sites in the UK and Europe. Each programme works on the original model created in the US, consisting of a Host business, an Educator, and a Supported Employment Service.
Interns attend Monday to Friday from 9am. Transport is provided from SGS College, Filton Campus.
