Following South Gloucestershire and Stroud (SGS) College’s National Student Survey (NSS) results, which saw SGS once again secure the top place for overall degree student experience in Bristol and the South West of England, SGS is incredibly proud to have been awarded University Centre status and opened University Centre WISE (West of England Institute of Specialist Education) to degree learners, at their WISE Campus this September.
SGS are set to enhance the experience of its undergraduate students having relocating relocated the majority of its degree provision to University Centre WISE (UCWISE).
UCWISE, in partnership with the University of Gloucestershire, will formally celebrate the opening open at the redeveloped WISE campus in North Bristol which has recently undergone nearly £8m pounds of investment. UCWISE will focus on ‘Education Reimagined’ with a suite of specialist degree courses in Sport, Performing and Visual Arts, Education, Professional and Conservation in a progressive, industry- focused and digitally integrated environment.
College Principal, Sara-Jane Watkins said,
“We’re delighted to announce our furthered progression in the face of adverse times - elevating our student experience and cementing the quality of our degree provision that will service local, regional and national audiences for years to come.”
“As we continue to expand under University Centre WISE (UCWISE), our innovative curriculum development team, alongside our industry expert lecturers, will continue to decolonise our curriculums, integrate technology throughout learning and ensure sustainability is at the heart of all we do at UCWISE, whilst focussing on student employability and experience.”
SGS CEO, Kevin Hamblin said,
“The launch of University Centre WISE alongside the College, Multi-Academy Trust and our Apprenticeship and Employer division will further the SGS Group as a leading player in the region by offering a comprehensive integrated education provision full of opportunity and accessibility for the entire region.”
