SGS College is delighted to congratulate Chair of Governors, Matt Atkinson, on being awarded a Fellowship by the Chartered Institution for Further Education in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the further education sector.
The Fellowship was presented at a special ceremony on Friday, celebrating Matt's dedication and commitment to further education over the past 32 years. The honour recognises his significant impact on the sector and his continued commitment to supporting learners, colleagues and educational organisations.
Following the ceremony, Matt reflected on the award, describing the recognition as "humbling and grounding" and expressing his gratitude to those who nominated him. He also shared how special it was to celebrate the occasion alongside his daughter, Ruby.
Representing SGS College at the ceremony, Chief Executive Officer and Principal, David Withey, was there to celebrate Matt's achievement.
David Withey said:

Throughout his career, Matt has made an outstanding contribution to further education, championing the importance of high-quality learning and the life-changing opportunities it creates.
