Summary

Our Level 2 course explores the exciting and rapidly changing world of Aviation. As a student, you will cover a broad range of subjects giving you the core skills needed to work in this sector allowing you to progress onto your chosen profession within this exciting industry. The coursework is designed to simulate the pressures and excitement of working as Cabin Crew for a commercial airline, the RAF or working as a Passenger Services Agent at Bristol Airport. We aim to prepare you to meet the expectations of employers within the air industry enabling you to find employment on completion of the course. During the course, you will gain experience and knowledge regarding the aviation industry, the different types of passengers you will encounter within the sector, and how to deal with their needs. Units that you will study include: · Working as Cabin Crew (On-Board) · Emergency Airline Procedures · Health and Safety in Aviation · Aviation Security · Aviation Communication · First Aid

What do I need to join?

Four GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, with English and Maths being desirable or a relevant Level 2 qualification. We also expect that you would have a general knowledge of the Aviation sector. You must be aged 18 on completion of the course in March 2025.

Maths & English

As part of our committment to providing opportunties for learners to continue to develop and practice both their literacy and numeracy skills, oppportunities to use different skills and techniques in both English and maths will be provided in sessions.

Employability

Demand for travel is predicted to be higher than ever in 2024 – Jet2, and easyJet airlines have already started to recruit for summer 2024 and will need to meet demand for summer 2025. Learners on the Level 2 programme will develop skills in communication, presentation and writing as well as teamwork and creative thinking, in addition to the skills relating to specific aspects of study e.g., aviation terminology, emergency procedures etc. Our past students are now flying with British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Jet2 Airlines, TUI, easyJet and Ryanair. We also have lots of past students working at check-in at Bristol Airport.

Work Experience

The coursework is designed to simulate the challenges and excitement of working as Cabin Crew or Passenger Services Agents. We aim to replicate as closely as possible the atmosphere and expectations that a learner will find when they leave us and find employment in the working world. We work closely with Jet2 at Bristol Airport and you will have a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity to train at British Airways training facilities at Heathrow Airport.

What can I do next?

Successful learners will find employment in the industry. You will be helped to navigate the recruitment process for both Cabin Crew and Aviation. Jet2 now the UK’s biggest tour operator offer a Fastrack opportunity for our students going through the recruitment screening process for Passenger Service Agents at Bristol Airport.
