This apprenticeship provides the skills and knowledge required to become a qualified wall and floor tiler within the construction industry. Apprentices will learn how to prepare surfaces and install a wide range of tiles, including ceramic, porcelain and natural stone, in both domestic and commercial settings. Apprentices will develop practical skills in measuring, setting out and fixing tiles to achieve high-quality finishes, while working safely and efficiently in line with industry standards and regulations.
The programme also focuses on interpreting technical drawings, understanding materials and maintaining excellent communication with clients and other trades. On completion, apprentices will be able to work independently or as part of a team, delivering skilled craftsmanship across a variety of projects, opening doors to a rewarding career in the construction sector.

This apprenticeship can lead to a career as a qualified wall and floor tiler, working on a wide range of domestic and commercial projects. With experience, you could become self-employed or run your own tiling business, taking on private clients and contracts.
There are opportunities to work on large construction sites alongside other trades on major developments such as schools, hospitals and offices. You may also progress into specialist areas, including high-end tiling, natural stone, or decorative finishes. With further experience, roles such as site supervisor or team leader are possible, overseeing projects and ensuring quality standards.
The apprenticeship can also provide a pathway into broader construction careers or higher-level qualifications in site management or related fields.
This apprenticeship requires learners to achieve maths and English at Level 1 or equivalent . Typically, it is realistic for learners to progress up one level during the apprenticeship. At interview, we will carry out an assessment to determine current literacy and numeracy levels. We will take account of any support needs in determining the suitability of learners for this apprenticeship.
