Our classes, available at our Filton campuses, are delivered face-to-face one afternoon per term. Through a diverse range of learning and teaching activities, including group work, discussions, and presentations, you’ll explore different perspectives on the role of a Higher Level Teaching Assistant.

Be prepared to actively participate, contribute to discussions, and engage in various activities to fully maximize your learning experience. To support your studies, you’ll need to be working in a school or college and have a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (STLS) or two years of experience as a teaching assistant.

Your tutor will also conduct observations during their visits to your workplace. Self-Study tasks, research and school-based projects will be set following each face to face session. Students need to allow around 4-6 hours a week to complete these.
