Summary

SGS College are dedicated to providing outstanding teaching and learning to our local communities, and with Maths being a vital part of everyday life we are delighted to offer our Food For Thought programme. Over the span of 8 weeks, you will not only gain valuable mathematical knowledge but also reap tangible rewards. As a participant in this course, you will receive £25 Love2Shop vouchers every other week, along with an additional £100 voucher upon completion of your functional skills exam with us. To facilitate your learning experience, you will have access to an online learning platform and digital resources that allow you to track your progress. Our dedicated SGS Maths tutor will provide feedback to further support your development. Additionally, you will receive a practice exam paper to ensure you are fully prepared for your Entry 3 exam. The Food For Thought programme presents an incredible opportunity for you to: • Assist your family with maths homework, fostering a supportive learning environment. • Acquire skills to effectively manage your bills, empowering you to take control of your finances. • Boost your confidence in tackling mathematical challenges, paving the way for personal growth. • Reduce your weekly food shopping expenses through enhanced mathematical proficiency. • Enjoy automatic progression onto a next-level Math course should you desire to further advance your skills.

How will I learn?

To facilitate your learning experience, we have designed a comprehensive approach for the Food For Thought programme. Workbooks containing study material will be conveniently emailed to you, ensuring easy access and flexibility. Our dedicated Food For Thought team will be readily available to address any questions or concerns you may have along the way. The workbook itself is structured to provide 8 weeks' worth of study material, tailored to an estimated 3 hours of independent dedication to the course per week. In addition to the workbooks, we offer a range of supplementary resources to enhance your learning experience. You will have access to short online support videos that provide further explanations and demonstrations of key mathematical concepts. These videos are designed to be fully accessible on your mobile phone or tablet, allowing you to engage with the material at your convenience.

Entry Requirements

To enrol onto this course, you must meet the following criteria: • You are age 19 or over at the start of the course • You have been a UK resident for at least the last 3 years • You have not achieved a Functional Skills Maths Entry 3 or higher qualification already
