About the course
The T Level Technical Qualification in Digital Software Development (Level 3) is a two-year programme designed for students aged 16–19 who want to pursue a career in the digital sector. It combines classroom learning with practical experience, including a minimum of 315 hours of industry placement.
Course content
- Year 1 Core topics: Problem solving, programming, emerging technologies, legislation, business context, data, digital environments and security.
- Year 2 Occupational Specialism: Advanced software development skills including design, implementation, testing, maintenance, and collaborative working. You will use PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS and Python Languages.
What do I need to join
To enrol on this course, you will need at least five GCSEs at grades 4-9, including English and Maths. A strong interest in digital technologies is also essential. If you have grades 4 you have the possibility to study the Foundation T Level as grades 5 would be preferred.
What can I do next
- Employment in roles such as Junior Developer, Web Developer, Application Developer, Games Developer, or Software Support Analyst.
- Apprenticeships (Level 3 or Level 4) or higher education (HNC, HND, degree programmes).
