Groundworkers play a critical role in the early and ongoing stages of construction projects. They interpret design specifications to prepare sites for structural building works, collaborating closely with supervisors and engineers. Their responsibilities include setting out and preparing sub-surfaces, installing drainage systems, concreting, and constructing roads and pathways. Groundworkers work across various construction environments, from heavy civil engineering projects to residential, commercial, and general building sites. Their work continues throughout the construction phase, contributing to the final completion activities, including hard landscaping. Groundworkers are employed by a wide range of construction companies, from small subcontractors to large contractors.
