Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work
  • Learn to diagnose, repair, and refurbish laptops and PCs.
  • Tasks include replacing screens, keyboards, and batteries, upgrading components, resolving software issues, and carrying out secure data wiping.
  • You’ll also test equipment, log repairs, and follow quality and environmental standards.
  • This apprenticeship combines hands-on training with college study, leading to a recognised IT.

Your training plan

As the successful apprentice, you will undertake an Apprenticeship in ICT Level 3 Information Communications Technician, to include assessment in the Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours of an IT Apprentice. A Standard contains a list of the skills, knowledge and behaviours an apprentice will need to have learned by the end of their apprenticeship.
