South Gloucestershire and Stroud College (SGS College) has been officially granted membership of the Chartered Institution for Further Education (CIFE), a prestigious recognition that places the college among a select group of exemplary Further Education (FE) providers across the UK.

The honour was presented at a formal ceremony held at Apothecaries' Hall in London, where David Withey, CEO and Principal of SGS College, accepted the charter certificate from Lord Lingfield, Chairman of the Institution.

"We are incredibly proud to receive this recognition. Becoming a member of the Chartered Institution for Further Education reflects the dedication, innovation and excellence demonstrated daily by our staff, students and governors. Every day, I see truly amazing things happening across our campuses, and this recognition not only acknowledges that but also strengthens our commitment to provide the highest levels of education for our learners."

The Chartered Institution for Further Education exists to raise the status of the FE sector by recognising providers that demonstrate exceptional commitment to quality, leadership, student outcomes, and collaboration. Membership is by invitation only, following a rigorous assessment process.

David added:

"Achieving this membership marks a significant milestone for SGS College. We're a college with bold ambitions - not just for ourselves, but for every learner who walks through our doors. This recognition inspires us to keep innovating and expanding opportunities, ensuring our learners are fully equipped to succeed and make a difference in their communities."
