The SGS Level 1 Sports programme is designed to introduce learners to the exciting world of sport through a number of engaging topics and units. The programme combines both theory and practical experiences from the sector, whilst allowing learners to develop and improve on other key skills, such as English and maths. The course is yearlong, and provides access to our Level 2 Sport and Level 2 Public Services programmes.

How do the Sports Academies work alongside this course?
Learners are able to access Sports Academies whilst studying at SGS College
on a full-time course. Your academic studies and academy training work as a
partnership, and as such, are never timetabled at the same time. This allows you
to continue your development within your selected sporting discipline, whilst
studying in an academic area that interests you.
For example, a learner may
have lectures on a Monday morning and then Academy training at WISE on a Monday
afternoon.

Sports academies are available only to applicants aged 16-18.

CloseTuition fees, as well as exam and material fees in some cases, will be charged for full-time learners aged 19+. The fee published here is the fee charged in the previous academic year and is indicative of what will be charged in the coming year.
