Are you aware of the costs involved in studying an FE course? As well as potential course tuition fee, you may also need to find money for travel costs, childcare, to buy materials/equipment, or to purchase food whilst you are at college. Finance, the Reception team (CET), or a member of your department should be able to advise you further on the course costs. Once you are enrolled you will find these details in your joining instructions. Please be aware that all fees are due no later than the first day of your course.
Watch The MMS VideoTo find out more about the financial support funding schemes available, click on the relevant link below. If you are interested in a flexible payment plan or making a payment via the SGS payment portal, then go to the 'Direct Payments & Flexible Payment Plans' section below.
You can appeal your Bursary assessment outcome or an element of your Bursary award by sending an email to [email protected] and including the following information:
Appeals where the household income is no more than £5,000 over the upper household income limit for eligibility, or where an element of the award is being appealed, will be reviewed at regular MMS team meetings. If a decision can not be reached within the normal guidelines or a consensus cannot be reached, the appeal will be escalated to either: the Head of Operational Finance, the Director of Finance or the Deputy CEO and Chief Financial Officer.
Where the household income is more than £5,000 over the upper household income limit for eligibility, the appeal will be immediately escalated.
The outcome of the appeal will be notified via email from [email protected].
Appeals for the academic year must be submitted before the end of May to be considered.
Make a payment online by debit or credit card via the College's Payment Portal or set up a plan to pay in installments.
There are a number of agencies, charities, and other types of financial support websites that can offer information, advice, and guidance on budgeting and debt assistance. It is always worth checking with the MMS Team to see what internal or external schemes SGS can help with.
The main MMS offices are located at the Filton and Stroud campuses next to the canteen. You will also find us located at Wise for 1 or 2 days each week, and we will be running regular online clinics via TEAMS for Queen's Road learners.
Please note: that we cannot guarantee that we will be able to answer the phone, and as such email is our primary means of contact. If you wish us to call you, then please state this in your email and provide us with your contact details. Our contact details can be found below.
