As a student, you'll refine your skills in various areas such as ballet, tap, jazz, and commercial dance techniques, with these tailored to your individual ability level.
Additionally, you'll explore choreography, contemporary dance techniques, physical expression, solo performance, audition techniques, and dance for the camera, all while participating in multiple dance productions hosted in our two studios and various Bristol venues. This course is designed not only to nurture your individual artistic and collaborative proficiencies but also to provide you with first-hand experience within a dance company setting.
Our Level 3 Dance extended pathway is equivalent to three A-Levels and offers a comprehensive curriculum tailored to aspiring dancers and choreographers, equipping them with the necessary skills to embark on a career in the performing arts industry. Throughout this course, you will immerse yourself in a thorough exploration of diverse dance styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and commercial dance styles. The instruction in these styles is carefully tailored to your ability level, ensuring a supportive and progressive learning environment.
In tandem with delving into the rich history of dance and choreography techniques, you will be presented with opportunities to refine your abilities in choreographing dance pieces, performance skills, stage presence, solo performances, audition techniques, and exploration.
As you progress through the programme, you will actively participate in a multitude of dance productions held throughout the year in our two studios and various other venues across Bristol. This hands-on experience not only fosters your personal artistic and collaborative skills but also provides invaluable insights into the dynamics of working within a professional dance company.
Moreover, you'll find yourself in close proximity to our degree students, immersing yourself in a vibrant theatre school environment. This unique setting ensures a rich and immersive learning experience. You'll enjoy a streamlined path to auditions for our BA (Hons) or Professional Diploma programmes, setting the stage for your continued journey in the world of professional dance and choreography.
Alongside your study programme, you'll engage in the Plus+ programme, which is dedicated to developing your personal and social development, further enhancing your growth, readiness for the industry and success in the wider world.
Sports academies are available only to applicants aged 16-18.
