The Level 2 T Level Foundation in Health & Social Care is the perfect course for anyone interested in starting a career supporting the health and wellbeing of others. This programme gives you a solid foundation in health and social care, combining classroom study with practical experience through work placements.
You’ll develop essential knowledge, hands-on skills, and professional behaviours that will prepare you for further study, apprenticeships, or employment in the sector.
This programme gives you a real taste of working in health and social care, combining classroom learning with practical experience. You’ll explore:
Caring for people: Learn how to provide person-centred care that supports the health and wellbeing of individuals.
Understanding people: Discover how humans grow and develop across their lifespan, and the care needs at different stages of life.
Working in the sector: Explore health and social care services, job roles, legislation, and how teams work together to support individuals.
Real-world projects: Design and deliver an activity during your placement to make a positive difference to the lives of people who use care services.
Science in care: Apply scientific concepts and information to understand health and wellbeing in everyday practice.
This approach helps you develop practical skills, professional knowledge, and confidence while giving you a sense of the rewarding impact you can have in health and social care.
GCSE grade 3 in Maths and Science and grade 4 in English.
You will need a reference from school with good attendance, punctuality and attitude to studying.
You will be invited to attend a taster session with assessment and interview.
Successful completion of all elements of the foundation programme, technical award and GCSE Maths will enable you to apply for the T Level in Health.
Alternatively, you may wish to continue training whilst working (e.g. via an apprenticeship or other work-based learning programme).
Sports academies are available only to applicants aged 16-18.
