Over two years, you’ll gain the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to support children’s learning and development, whether you choose to work as an Early Years Educator, Teaching Assistant, or continue your journey into higher education to study Primary Teaching or social sciences. This course is designed to inspire you to grow both professionally and personally while preparing you for a rewarding career in education.

Year 2 – Specialisation Pathways:
Early Years Educator
Inspire children through play, learning, and exploration
Build meaningful relationships to support growth and confidence
Plan, deliver, and review care and learning opportunities
Promote children’s health, safety, and wellbeing
Collaborate with parents, carers, and professionals to support development
Teaching Assistant
Enhance learning through support and guidance in the classroom
Plan and deliver educational opportunities alongside teachers
Promote the wellbeing and safety of children and young people
Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all children, including those with SEND
Numeracy and Literacy skills are embedded throughout the course.
5 GCSEs grade 4 or above including Maths and English. (To progress into higher education to study Primary Teaching, you will also need GCSE Science grade 4). A Clear enhanced DBS Certificate and preferably evidence of work experience in a nursery setting.
Progress into skilled employment as an Early Year Educator or Teaching Assistant, or into higher education to study Primary Teaching or another social science.
Sports academies are available only to applicants aged 16-18.
