About the course

This online qualification is designed to help learners understand how adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) affect children and provide basic techniques for preventing and addressing these issues.

To achieve this qualification, learners must complete 3 mandatory units. These include exploring childhood and family structures, an introduction to adverse childhood experiences, and understanding strategies to improve outcomes for children affected by ACEs.

The course aims to help learners explore different childhood and family structures, understand the impact of ACEs on children, and recognise the role of practitioners in supporting children affected by ACEs. Additionally, learners will develop strategies to improve outcomes for children impacted by these experiences.

The course is fully online, and after successfully completing the initial assessment, you will be given access to an online portfolio.

How is the course delivered and assessed?

Studying via distance learning means you can choose when and where you study, giving you the freedom to choose your learning schedule yourself whilst still gaining certification for your chosen subject.

We recommend spending a minimum of 2-4 hours per week on this course and we recommend completing within 12 weeks.

We appreciate this may be a new way of learning for many of you or there may be some further support required. If you find yourself feeling less than confident and look for additional support, we want to make sure we are there to offer that little bit extra and tailor it to your needs. This may include a phone call or emails with one of our dedicated tutors and support staff to help guide you through your course.
