Through this qualification, learners will develop an understanding of:

The stages of the software development cycle – Understand how software is planned, developed, tested, and deployed.

Coding terminology and key principles of writing code – Get familiar with common coding terms and best practices for writing clean, efficient code.

Best practices in coding – Learn industry-standard techniques for writing high-quality, maintainable code.

Methods of testing and the DevOps process – Discover how code is tested and managed throughout the development lifecycle.

Effective communication and project management in coding – Develop skills to collaborate with teams, manage projects, and deliver successful coding solutions.

This course is ideal for anyone with an interest in technology, whether you want to continue your studies in coding or pursue a career in a coding or IT-related role.

Course content

There are five units to complete:

  • Understand the principles of coding
  • Understand terminology used in coding
  • Understand coding design principles
  • Understand the processes and practice of coding
  • Understand the importance of communication and project management in coding
How is the course delivered and assessed?

Studying via distance learning means you can choose when and where you study, giving you the freedom to choose your learning schedule yourself whilst still gaining certification for your chosen subject.

We recommend spending a minimum of 2-4 hours per week on this course and we recommend completing within 12 weeks.
