In today's digital age, proficiency in basic computer skills is essential. Our Basic Computer Skills course is designed to equip participants with the fundamental knowledge and competencies necessary to navigate and utilise computer technology effectively. Whether you're a complete beginner or seeking to enhance your existing skills, this course provides a comprehensive foundation for success in various personal and professional endeavours.

Join us in a relaxed and friendly environment, with approachable and patient tutors, where you will learn:

  • How to use the Internet to search for information
  • How to compare prices online
  • How to video chat with friends and family online
  • Online shopping and how to buy groceries
  • Understanding emails, messages and attachments
  • How to stay safe when working online

    Join our FREE 17-week courses start in September and February.

How is the course delivered and assessed?
This course will be based in local libraries including Bradley Stoke library, Downend library and Winterbourne library, in the morning 9:30 – 12:30pm. Bring your own laptop, tablet or smartphone to practice the skills on familiar devices. Alternatively, you can use the public computers in the libraries to do the course!
What do I need to join (Entry Requirements)

To enrol onto this course, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You are age 19 or over at the start of the course
  • You have been a UK resident for at least the last 3 years
  • You have not achieved a Functional Skills Maths Entry level or higher qualification already
