Esports Lecturer and Academy Coach

SGS College is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Esports lecturer to deliver BTEC Qualifications to the L2 and L3 cohorts, and to act as Head Academy Coach for the Esports Academy.

At SGS College, we have a Gaming Hub, based in our newly developed digital and media building on our WISE Campus in Bristol. This Hub is home to our Esports Academy and provides learners with industry leading technology and equipment.

You will work with our existing Esport Lecturer and Assistant Academy coach to deliver, evaluate and develop our current Esports provision at SGS College.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To work with our current Esports lecturer to teach and assess on the L2 and L3 BTEC Programme.
  • To provide appropriate student welfare and academic/non-academic support.
  • To conduct curriculum development work, including planning, development and evaluation of course materials.
  • Act as a Personal Tutor
  • Coach Academy Teams and manage fixtures and events (e.g. Valorant, Overwatch 2, Rocket League, and seasonal cup games)


Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or have substantial industry experience.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • You should have energy, enthusiasm, and passion for the subject, and be able to support, motivate and empathise with learners.
  • Teaching experience and/or qualifications.
  • Demonstrable familiarity with current, high-level competitive play across various Esport games, particularly Overwatch 2, Valorant, and Rocket League.
