Summary

We are seeking to appoint an Apprentice Administrator to provide admin support to the school's office function. As a part of this role, you will complete the L3 Business Administration apprenticeship standard and achieve the Business Admin Diploma at Level 3.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

General administration duties include:

  • Producing a variety of letters/communication home to families as directed
  • Minute taking as directed
  • Data input into Management Information Systems
  • Filtering and distributing incoming posts and emails
  • Assisting colleagues with the preparation of documents for the whole school and/or departmental meetings and events
  • Undertaking data/evidence gathering
  • Providing a friendly, professional and customer-focused service to all stakeholders
  • Ensuring all general enquiries (email, face-to-face, telephone and letters) are responded to in a sensitive and timely manner, in accordance with procedures and directing difficult/ complex enquiries to the appropriate staff
  • Undertaking main reception and student services reception cover duties as and when required

Additional information:

  • Undertake any such duties commensurate with the post as directed by the Headteacher/Line Manager
  • As part of the wider duties and responsibilities, the apprentice is expected to promote and actively support the school’s responsibilities towards safeguarding
  • Develop a good knowledge and understanding of the Data Protection Act 2018 and a willingness and commitment to ensure compliance with this and any associated data-related legislation
  • Develop and maintain an awareness of mental health issues affecting both colleagues and students/learners and act in a supportive way that helps others and enables them to be open about any issues affecting them
  • The apprentice will be fully supported during the apprenticeship and will receive a full induction in school and ongoing training

Your training plan

The training will be delivered by SGS College, Filton and the apprenticeship is delivered over 15 months with an additional 3-month
End Point Assessment. 

In addition to the Knowledge Skills and Behaviours set out in the apprenticeship standard, SGS College will also embed a City and Guilds Diploma in business administration.

  • In addition, learners will be required to select one relevant optional unit
