Summary

This course prepares you for the role of a Learning and Skills Mentor, found across public, private, and voluntary sectors in national and multinational organisations. Mentors support individuals and groups in their learning and development toward agreed goals, working within ethical and legal frameworks to ensure high standards. They collaborate with stakeholders to meet the mentees' needs inclusively and are committed to their own professional development. Mentors typically work in various environments, providing face-to-face or remote mentoring. Daily interactions include professionals at all organisational levels, such as supervisors, managers, trainees, and other practitioners. Mentors are responsible for managing the mentor-mentee relationship, supporting mentee progression, and ensuring best practices within organisational boundaries, often working independently with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
