About the course

The IT for Work sessions are available for learners with some computing experience who need to improve or refresh their digital skills. You will build on your knowledge to improve the use of software like Microsoft Word and Excel, to use emails, to manage data securely and to use the internet and social media for work. Course content

During the course, you will develop your skills in:

  • Using Microsoft Word and Excel more effectively

  • Managing emails and online communication

  • Using the internet safely and efficiently

  • Handling and storing data securely

This course is ideal if you already have some experience with Microsoft applications, email, and the internet but would like to strengthen your knowledge for employment or further study.

How is the course delivered and assessed?
The course is delivered in person through practical, hands-on sessions supported by your tutor. Before starting, you will complete a short initial assessment to ensure the course is suitable for your current skill level.
What do I need to join
You should have some existing knowledge of computers, including basic use of Microsoft applications, email, and the internet. An initial assessment will be arranged by a member of the SGS Life Team before enrolment is confirmed.
