About the course

This course is the first step in our IT Beginners series, designed for adults with little or no experience using a computer. Over 10 weeks, you will gain the essential digital skills needed to confidently use technology for everyday tasks and communication.

Course content
You will learn the basics of using a computer, including how to use a mouse and keyboard, send and receive emails, browse the internet, and stay safe online. You will also develop practical skills such as creating, inputting and editing text using Microsoft Word.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
The course is delivered in person over 10 weeks, with one 2 hour session each week. Sessions are practical and hands-on, with step-by-step guidance from your tutor. There is no formal assessment; you will build confidence through supported practice and activities.
What do I need to join (Entry Requirements)
No prior experience is required. This course is suitable for adults aged 19 and over who are new to using computers or want to build confidence with basic digital skills.
