Maths & English
A key requirement for future progression and employment is a good understanding and application of knowledge and skills in both English and maths.
Learners will be provided with the opportunity to continually develop their English and maths, and feedback will be provided on progress made.
What do I need to join
Learners will require four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including both English Language and Maths, in order to enrol on this programme of study.

As qualifications evolve nationally, new pathways are being developed to offer you more choice and flexibility. From the 2027/28 academic year, the government is changing how second-year studies are funded; while funding for some traditional Extended Diplomas is being withdrawn, it is being replaced by a range of modern, career-focused options designed to better prepare you for your next steps in the travel and hospitality industry.
Looking ahead:
- V-Levels (launching from 2027): These will provide an exciting new progression route. They are designed to help you explore different career sectors—including travel, tourism, and hospitality—while developing practical, transferable skills.
- Sector Pathways: New pathways are being developed to include specialisms in Hospitality, Sustainable Tourism, and Management, alongside the initial roll-out of digital and finance-based routes.
No matter which route you choose, our experienced team will support you every step of the way—whether you are aiming for Higher Education (University), a Higher Apprenticeship (such as Aviation Operations or Hospitality Management), or moving directly into your chosen career.
