Are you a creative individual who is curious about the world of media? This one-year foundation course in Media, Art and Design is the perfect starting point for your journey into the creative industries. You’ll develop a broad, practical skillset and a strong creative portfolio through hands-on projects. You’ll plan, film and edit your own short film scenes using professional camera and editing equipment, experiment with stop motion and digital animation techniques, and design characters, levels and covers for your own 2D game ideas. You’ll also explore art, photography and design to develop your own creative style.

Designed as a supportive introduction to college life, our course will help you build creativity, confidence and independence. It’s delivered by a teacher experienced in supporting learners with SEND, ensuring lessons are inclusive, flexible and responsive to your needs. With structured guidance and personalised feedback, every learner is supported to achieve and grow.

You’ll also study English and Maths alongside your creative work to prepare you to progress on to Level 2 Media or Games Design at SGS.
