About the course

Care for the Community?is a funded Skills Bootcamp designed to support ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) learners who are interested in starting a career in Health and Social Care. The course offers a unique blend of language development in the mornings and a recognised Health and Social Care qualification in the afternoons. It is tailored for adults aged 19 and over, are currently seeking employment, and have the right to work in the UK. This Skills Bootcamp provides the essential skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to begin a rewarding journey in the care sector.

What can I do next
We will work with you to try and secure paid employment within the Health and Social Care sector. With the employer engagement work we do; we often know of live vacancies that we can support you to apply for. We also have an excellent careers team, who can support with things like CV writing and interview techniques. There is also the opportunity to complete some voluntary work experience, to give you a flavour of what these roles consist of daily.

Skills Bootcamps are Government funded programmes, aimed at adults upskilling. For this Skills Bootcamp, you must be: Aged 19+ Working, or intending to work, in the WECA region Not have attended a Skills Bootcamp this financial year Have the right to work in the UK Actively seeking employment or retraining.
