With over £6.8 billion spent on medicines by the NHS in 2015-16, and many patients not taking their medication correctly, it is essential to understand the proper handling of medication to avoid serious issues.
This course will help you improve your skills in handling medication safely, making it an important qualification for anyone working in or entering the healthcare sector.
This course is split into four manageable units:
Unit 1: Understand medication and prescriptions
Unit 2: Supply, storage and disposal of medication
Unit 3: Understand the requirements for the safe administration of medication
Unit 4: Record keeping and audit processes for medication

Please note, this is a fully online course and you will be given access to an online portfolio upon successful completion of the initial assessment process.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
Studying via distance learning means you can choose when and where you study, giving you the freedom to choose your learning schedule yourself whilst still gaining certification for your chosen subject.
We recommend spending a minimum of 2-4 hours per week on this course and we recommend completing within 12 weeks.
