The course covers six key areas to build your expertise:

• Health and Safety in Construction, including site safety protocols, risk assessments, hazard control, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Preparation of Surfaces, focusing on assessing and preparing external walls, identifying defects, and applying primers and bonding agents.
• Installation Techniques, such as fixing insulation boards by mechanical and adhesive methods, applying base coats and reinforcement mesh, and finishing with render or cladding systems.
• Tools and Equipment, covering safe use, maintenance, and selecting the right equipment for different wall types.
• Quality Assurance, including methods to check for thermal bridging, prevent moisture ingress, and ensure compliance with building regulations and manufacturer specifications.
• Communication and Teamwork, emphasising effective collaboration with clients, supervisors, and colleagues, as well as understanding project documentation.
